You’ve expanded your knowledge on the issue of climate change. You know why it’s happening, what is impacted by it, and what will happen in the future. Now you need to know what you can do about it.
The Union of Concerned Scientists says that to fight climate change, people need to reduce the amount of gas they burn (What Can I Do). This includes purchasing a fuel-efficient vehicle or choosing other forms of transportation like trains, subways, buses, walking, and biking. Another way to help is to reduce the amount of electricity used around the house. This can include turning off lights when leaving the room, unplugging cords that aren’t in use, and using washing machines or dishwashers only when full loads are in them. People can also donate to the various organizations fighting climate change, such as ucsusa.org. All support is needed and greatly appreciated.
This is our last chance to get it together, so get out there and make a change. Earth needs it now more than ever. After all, we only have one world.
